Author Tricia Goyer has a new media kit – and it is a great example to follow.
Why I like it:
- It has a great design that is easy on the eyes.
- It has a fantastic introduction to the author.
- The kit teaches you about Tricia the Woman, Writer, Worker and Speaker.
- There is a list of publishing credits, including summaries of her books.
- It offers media direction for topics and questions.
I will say the 12-page document was a little too long for my tastes. The daily journalist inside of me believes a five page maximum is great (and less likely to end up in File 13 on a busy day).
However, I think this kit works because it is for a variety of media, speaking engagements, guest appearances and more. Features editors will eat it up, as will Web editors hungry for fresh content, or information to post with photos of author guest appearances.
Goyer managed to wrap everything up into a neat, cool package that grooves with her Web site. Check out her PDF kit:

GREAT PRESS AND MEDIA KIT
A very good presskit. I am an educator, so I am always working on my Portfolio (now online). It is interesting to see how writers do it. Thanks for the info.

I can see why her document is so many pages – she has a lot to offer! Thanks for sharing this – it helps me know what areas I need to work on.
