Add Your Sites to Search Engines and Directories

July 15th, 2009 · No Comments · Web/Tech

I'm always trying to find cheap ways to get my sites in more cyberhands.

After seeing it mentioned in a few posts, I tried AddMe.com to see how it worked. It seemed to do OK, but I had to confirm several submissions and got a lot of spam and newsletters after I submitted my site. It is quite possible there was a box in the submission form I should have unchecked, so if you go this route, read things carefully to see if you can avoid the crazy onslaught.

When I went hunting for more information on Bing, I found a site that lists several directories - some of them free - where you can also list your sites at BlogTactic.com. Some of these sites are the same ones that receive your submission via AddMe.com. There is also a Webmaster site for Bing, if you haven't visited already. Note that with this one, you must be able to add XML or meta information so it is recognized by Bing. If you aren't savvy with this, send the link to your Webmaster and ask them to take care of it.

If you'd like to add a Bing search box to your site, you can find out more information at TechnoFriends.in.
