Create Terrific Copy That Keeps Readers Coming Back

One of the top questions I still receive from authors is how to write a blog post.

l've blogged for so long that this question becomes increasingly difficult to answer. For me, it comes second-nature - just like writing a hard news story for a daily newspaper.

What I do know is this: Your blog copy should be fun, personal and filled with tidbits that appeal to your fans, prospective agents and, in some cases, publishers. It should be clear and focused - especially when promoting your next novel. All posts should be categorized correctly so readers can find them later.

Dan Kauffman of Bar Zine offers five terrific tips on how to create sizzling blog copy at ProBlogger. Seasoned writers - especially those with a journalism background - will recognize some of the principles.
