Sometimes things just get lost in translation. With the increasing use of e-mail, Twitter and social networks to communicate, it makes it even tougher, sometimes, to decipher exactly what a person means.
A few months ago, I’d booked a tour of multiple authors who did an anthology. In my calendar, I have them down as a guest blog. When I think of "guest blog," I think of a column to be submitted. The authors, however, were thinking "interview."
Big YIKES.
Luckily, it was caught well before the tour date and we could work something else out. I felt terrible it, but was so thankful we caught it in time.
This was a good reminder that when booking virtual book tours – or scheduling them – to make sure you are speaking the same language. Even if you’ve worked with a blog host before, reconfirm exactly what you both mean.
